Uganda through Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT), Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA) and Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry to construct third international airport in Uganda.

The Chamber will construct an airport next to Kidepo National Park and tourism hotels within the park to boost the tourism sector.
