The National Governance, Peace and Security Survey (NGPSS) 2024/25

The National Governance, Peace and Security Survey (NGPSS) 2024/25 show encouraging progress. The findings revealed that 82% of Ugandans expressed trust in government’s ability to provide security, up from 72% in 2017. while trust in local government institutions rose to 61%, up from 55% in 2022. Case backlog reduction in the judiciary improved by 18% between 2023 and 2025, reflecting institutional efficiency. Additionally, the Inspectorate of Government recorded a 12% increase in corruption case resolutions in 2025, signaling stronger governance accountability. 93% reported trust in justice systems, while 60% felt safe walking alone at night in their communities. Awareness of human rights stood at 89%, and 57% of citizens were aware of government anti-corruption efforts, reflecting improved transparency.
