In order to mitigate transnational crime, Government of Uganda, through the National Central Bureau of International Police (Interpol) in Kampala, activated the newly-launched Interpol Silver Notice system in February 2025.  The system is meant to trace and recover assets linked to crimes internationally. This is part of a pilot programme involving 52 countries until November 2025, aimed at mitigating transnational organized crime. This system facilitates identification and location of laundered assets however, extracts of Silver Notices will not be published during this initial phase, maintaining operational discretion.
