In December 2023, Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBoS) launched the 2024 National Household Census. This was presided over by H.E the President in a ceremony held at Kololo Ceremonial grounds. The above-mentioned nationwide exercise will begin on the night of 9^th May, 2024, and the next day, 10^th May, 2024, will be observed as a public holiday to enable a large number of Ugandans to be counted.
