MILLENIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS REPORTS

The Millennium Summit held in New York in September 2000 was a land mark event that brought together a number of countries and heads of state to form a global consensus of the challenges facing humanity. More important to the summit deliberations was to discuss and come up with what needed to be done to overcome the challenges facing the world development initiatives resulting into formulation of the Millennium development Goals (MDGs)

GOVERNMENT OUTLAYS ANALYSIS REPORTS (GOARS)

The Government Outlays Analysis Reports (GOARs) were one of the expected outputs under the MDG Reporting and Poverty monitoring component of the United Nations development Programme (UNDP) Country Programme Action Plan (2006-2010) for Uganda. They were being produced by the Economic Development Policy and Research Department of the MoFPED to track the trends and patterns of Public Expenditure and Development results on an annual basis.

Climate Change and urbanisation have been identified as major challenges that will have an increasingly significant impact on wellbeing of the world inhabitants especially children of the developing world in the coming decades.
