The State of Uganda Population Report 2017 was compiled under the theme, "Transforming Uganda's Economy to harness the Demographic Dividend for Sustainable Development”. The report covered the entire economy, identified the gaps and made recommendations to help fix the bottlenecks. The State of Uganda Population Report 2017 indicates that Ugandan women have a high fertility rate, with each woman producing on average five children in their lifetime. The report notes that this fertility rate translates into a high dependency syndrome that hampers socio-economic development. More information about the report can be accessed on the following link.
