UGANDA NATIONAL OIL COMPANY SIGNS MOU WITH ALGERIAN OIL COMPANY
The Presidents of Uganda and Algeria oversaw the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Sonatrach (Algeria’s national oil company) and the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) on March 12th, 2023. The MOU aims to jointly assess cooperation opportunities across the entire oil and gas value chain (exploration, production, marketing, processing and other downstream activities).
IDENTIFYING COMMODITY-SPECIFIC PRIORITY INVESTMENTS IN SELECTED DISTRICTS OF UGANDA
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) conducted a study with a specific objective of ranking the relative importance of eight priority policy areas. These include: seeds, fertilizers, mechanization, irrigation, extension, research and development (R&D), roads and electrification for each selected district-commodity combination. They sought to identify the most promising areas for investment in a particular commodity in five selected districts of Soroti, Serere, Kabale, Lira, and Masaka.
Tracking SDG7: The Energy Progress Report, 2022
The Energy Progress Report assesses achievements in the global quest for universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy by 2030. The report findings indicate that on a global scale, achievement of the 2030 target will not be achieved partly due to disruptions by the COVID-19 pandemic and inadequate investment in energy and the attendant policy and regulatory reforms.

The Uganda Free Zones Authority Annual Report FY2021/22 discusses, among others, the performance of the Free Zones scheme in Uganda during the FY2021/22. The report presents the achievements, challenges, recommendation and strategic outlook of the scheme for the FY2022/23 from the FY2021/22 Free Zones Enterprise Survey findings.
