The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen prosecution of cases arising from laws administered by URSB. URSB has mandate to enforce laws related to interfering with Intellectual Property Rights, patent right registration, trademarks as well as those related to registration of companies.
The MOU will strengthen the overall performance of the DPP in fulfilling its mandate, enabling both parties improve prosecution standards to enhance justice for all, easing investigation and prosecution of matters arising from breach of laws and supporting the URSB Police Enforcement Unit in its investigations.
