The Report raises important findings on how the negative consequences of unintended pregnancy would not have occurred if the women experiencing them had been empowered to make conscious and deliberate choices over their fertility and reproductive futures.


Strengthening Logistics Preparedness for Infectious Disease Response in Uganda

The outbreak of infectious diseases like Ebola virus disease (EVD), yellow fever, measles, or currently COVID-19, are regular occurrences in Uganda. If not detected early and effectively contained, these diseases threaten the health and economic well-being of the entire population, and beyond. Disease response is a top-priority for public health managers and Logistics Preparedness has been identified as one of its key success factors. This Report analyzes the current state of logistics preparedness for infectious diseases in Uganda.


Teenage Pregnancy in Uganda

The Teenage Pregnancy Report provides insights into the economic and social burden of teenage pregnancies in Uganda. The Report indicates that the teenage pregnancy rate is high and rising with more than 30,000 teenage girls getting pregnant each month in 2021 (over 1,000 daily).

Teenage pregnancies decrease household incomes and jeopardize the country’s strategy for achieving a demographic dividend.

Putting Women at the Center of Uganda’s Economic Revival

Uganda’s 18th Economic Update by the World Bank provides insights about the benefits of putting women at the center of Uganda’s Economic Revival. The Report demonstrates women’s economic empowerment as key to quickening and strengthening Uganda’s transformation agenda.

Global experience shows that increasing women’s rates of labor force participation as well as earnings, access to productive assets, and the ability to make independent decisions brings immediate benefits for women and also contributes to more sustained economic growth.


World Malaria Report 2021

In this report, World Health Organization (WHO) surveys the extent of damage brought by the COVID-19 pandemic to the global malaria response, and outlines what is needed to get back on track and accelerate progress in the fight against one of our oldest and deadliest diseases.
