Parliament passed the Physical Planners’ Registration Bill, 2021 to provide for the establishment of a Physical Planners' Registration Board; to provide for the powers and functions of the Board and to provide for the registration of physical planners in the country among other provisions. The Bill addresses the absence of a legal framework through which physical planners are regulated. Thus, it intends to solve the challenges of unplanned physical development in urban and rural, violation of minimum physical planning standards and abuse of environmentally sensitive areas.



Parliament passes the Toll Road Bill 2018

Parliament passed the Road Toll Bill 2018. The bill is aimed at streamlining management of toll roads in the country. Similarly, the Uganda National Roads Authority put in place several regulations governing the road sub sector including the wheel and axle regulations, the ferry management regulations, vehicle dimension regulations among others. These are aimed at streamlining transport to reduce damaging and vandalism of the road infrastructure.
