Africa Sovereign Credit Rating Review: 2022 Mid Year Outlook

The analysis of the long-term foreign currency sovereign credit rating actions in Africa indicates that there were more sovereign rating downgrades than upgrades. Five countries were downgraded and these included: Burkina Faso; Ghana; Mali; Namibia; and Tunisia – compared to only two upgrades that included Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).



The Second Continental Report On the Implementation of Agenda 2063

Agenda 2063 is Africa’s development blueprint to achieve inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development over a 50-year period. The continent aims to achieve this objective through the realisation of five ten-year implementation plans. The First Ten-Year Implementation Plan of Agenda 2063, spanning 2014 to 2023, outlines a set of goals, priority areas and targets that the continent aims to achieve at national, regional and continental levels.


The Uganda Police Force Annual Crime Report, 2021

The Annual Crime Reports does provide accountability to the Ugandan citizenry on how the Uganda Police Force is fulfilling its mandate as stipulated under Article 212 of the Constitution of Uganda. Generally, in the year 2021, there was a 0.1% increase in the volume of crimes reported to Police from 195,931 cases reported in the year 2020 to 196,081 cases in 2021.




The State of Democracy in Africa and The Middle East 2021

There has been a gradual decline in democratic quality in Africa for the first time in almost a decade and the Middle East are not exempt. Recent declines in democracy have undermined some of the remarkable progress made in Africa and middle East over the past three decades, although bright spots remain. The Covid-19 pandemic, though seemingly less damaging to public health than elsewhere in the world, has added pressure on governance, rights and social inequality.

The Climate Change Action Plan 2021–2025 aims to advance the climate change aspects of the WBG’s Green, Resilient, and Inclusive Development (GRID) approach, which pursues poverty eradication and shared prosperity with a sustainability lens. The new Action Plan represents a shift from efforts to “green” projects, to greening entire economies, and from focusing on inputs, to focusing on impacts.
