Today, more than 800 million people across the globe go to bed hungry every night, most of them smallholder farmers who depend on agriculture to make a living and feed their families.

According to this report, the full start of the 2022 first bimodal rainy season (March to June) was delayed by 30 to 40 days or more across the country. The season is believed to be among the driest on record since 1981 in large parts of northern Uganda. This meant delayed crop development and reduced yields. Therefore, less food to feed households and for sale.
